Diane Campion works for an Italian specialty food importer in sales
working with clients, setting up promotions, and
conducting educational seminars. She is also a member of the 'American
Cheese Society', and of 'Oldways' a food think
tank promoting a traditional pyramid diet. Recently, Diane traveled
with 'Oldways' as a subject matter expert of food and
wine to Puglia, Italy. There she toured many small farms that produce
the local olives, grapes, cheeses, and vegetables.
Slow Foods is a large part of these efforts in that part of Italy.
Her love of food started in childhood, where she learned to grow,
prepare and store foods at her family’s home in the
Midwest. Cooking for her family and friends has been a joy since
then. Diane brings a
diverse world view to her culinary
style, and has created menus and worked as a chef for restaurants
in Colorado, catered and provisioned yachts
in the Virgin Islands, and worked in catering, and specialty food sales
in south Florida.
Diane wants use her knowledge and background to connect with others in
the pursuit of good farming, good eating and
good living. The Slow Foods philosophy does this and it is a message of
great value to our region of South Florida.
